Aralian Republic, 10 A.M.

Lord Daern gave a little squeak of joy as the head of his guard told him they were near the city gates. Him and his clan, while technically part of the great nine, lived much further north than the others. Burh Draka wasn't even part of the great caverns Taenari civilization originated in, it was originally just an outpost. This assignment from Wigamear would bring honor to the clan and to their isolated home. Daern had been an early supporter of the upstart first minister and was now reaping the rewards of his loyalty. Wigamear, he who had promised Daern and his clan the world, had begun to deliver. Daern clutched the parcel he held in anticipation, it was an auspicious gift. He wondered if his new friends knew they were coming. How would they be received? What did they eat? Daern's mind was filled with questions that his clan already knew the answer to. Burh Draka was dangerously close to the surface after all. How could they not've observed these strange, tall, hairless surface dwellers? Nevertheless, Daern still had one real question he would ask. Did they know of the Taenari at all before today?

Of course the Aralian citizens knew not of their soon-to-arrive guests and were suitably surprised when the usually picturesque countryside outside the capital began to move. Hills heaved upward, trees were uprooted, and the ground vibrated as dozens of Clan Daern's breachers carved a path for their delegation. The rolling mass of surface-level destruction as well as the tremors stopped for moment and many breathed a sigh of relief. Until one of the hills outside the city suddenly burst open and spawned squeaking, furry offspring. Alarms were raised and bells rang as the city mobilized to repel the subterranean threat. A series of earth-shattering blares from what was assumed to be war horns rolled over the city; sending many children into fits of tears and their parents into shock. They were further stunned when the invaders, instead of invading, seemed to be setting up for a picnic?!

Karithia 1 P.M.

Brughyll blindly lurched over to the side of the boat and expelled the rest of the day's rations into the hurling seas below him. He hated the "ocean" or whatever the human crew of the vessel called it. His surface languages were a little rusty. He fumbled to get on top of the box the crew has kindly set aside for him and his companions and wretched again. He felt the reassuring paw of Ailred on his back and attempted to greet his friend, only to be met with more of his lunch flooding from his mouth.

"You Barruks should really spend more time among the cursory clans." Ailred chortled, "Wecta knows you could use it."

Brughyll, finding a reprieve from the torrent he produced, scowled at Ailred, "I don't want to hear it, cousin. You're just as new to this as I." he spat.

Ailred grinned, "True! But in two months of travel I'm all better and you are decidedly worse." He patted Brughyll on the shoulder, "Oh relax cousin we're here! Look at how beautiful it i-"

"You know I cannot." Brughyll snarled. He knew they were close anyway. The city was deafening. He turned, "Quit your gloating and help me down then."

"You Barruks have been lording your lack of it for two centuries." Ailred retorted, helping his friend off the boxes and onto the deck, "Let me have this one moment of triumph."

Before Brughyll could snap back at his insolent cousin he heard the ship cruise into where it would be moored. The city was deafening. His snout and ears were overwhelmed with the sheer volume of smells and noises greeting him. It was far worse than anything he'd experienced back home. Brughyll assumed that Taenarian Burhs were as loud and smelly as any surface city but this was far worse. Ailred, noticing his cousin's obvious distress, grabbed him firmly by the arm and marched off the boat and onto the dock.

"Come cousin" he said, "Let's go find who's in charge.". Brughyll, completely overwhelmed, had no choice but to follow.[/spoiler]

Harbor of Orais, 1 pm

The Noises of the city were horridly deafening, for Merchant Ships from all over the Nation and beyond left the grand System of docks and ports that faced towards the Sea. Merchant ships of varying sizes, some were the size of the Grand Aurlius class Conveyors which held a hefty broadside of Long Guns as they passed the very ship they stood upon.

Their Broadside or long guns were. Set of Naval arms that could cover vast distances as if a Sharpshooter embodied these weapons of War, its triple decks having been eloquently designed for both storage of goods and the durability needed to survive in pirate infested waters that lay beyond Karnithia’s own waters - they are the ideal ships for long voyages as the Royal Sails were raised high as a lesser vessel passes by its broad side of this Man of war sized vessel.

For when the vessel which hosted the two got closer to the Grand docks of the city, the two would notice a horrid scent above it all - one of Death. Not recently of course, but it was as if the city had its own soul nearly rotted away from a disease beyond mortality for at some point in its history - it almost had been completely destroyed which it had Happened in recent history. Having nearly been ransacked and burned to ash barely a decade ago during the height of the Undead Invasion.

Aside from that one of the most noticeable things was a lack of non humans, granted there were many non humans seen at the docks having come to deliver their wares but beyond the merchants? Seeing something such as a Elf was rare, even with Karnithia’s proximity to Navea which was rich in its elven population and the open border it held. It was simply not a common thing seen, especially this far north.

Greeting the two was a pair of well-dressed soldiers. Their uniforms were impeccable, adorned in the royal blue and marble white of the kingdom’s standing professional army. The soldiers’ helmets were made of a material akin to that of smoothened black iron, refined into a sleek, cloth-like appearance. Each helmet bore a distinctive plume, signifying their rank and unit.

For their Tunics we’re made from a high-quality, durable fabric barely found outside of the kingdom, the tunics were royal blue with marble white trim. They were tailored to fit snugly, offering both a sharp appearance and ease of movement. While The trousers were of the same blue fabric, with white stripes running down the sides. While The black iron helmets commonly referred to “Aiolos” were polished to a sheen, giving them a smooth, almost cloth-like appearance. Each helmet featured a plume, its color and style acted as the main way of identifying the soldier’s rank and regiment aside from their badges of course. For Over their tunics, the soldiers wore heavy, navy blue cloaks fastened with silver brooches emblazoned with the kingdom’s crest which came in the form of a Gyrphonn adorned with a Golden Laurel, its right Talon holding tightly onto a military Sabre and its left held a set of Arrows. For The cloaks added to their overall renowned appearance s they represented the might of Karnithia’s army.

Their boots are sturdy, knee-high leather boots completed the uniform, polished to a high shine. They were made for a variety of conditions from long marches and standing guard to trenching through hellish mud and bombed out lands.

Adorning their uniforms was A white sash which crossed with their chests, paired with a leather belt holding a ceremonial sword on one side and a pouch for ammo on the other. The belt buckles bore intricate designs, reflecting the craftsmanship of Karnithian artisans.

Yet what stood out the most wasn’t their uniforms but the rifles they held. These weapons were otherworldly and exotic, the cutting edge of firearms, the pinnacle of Karnithian rifles.

Each rifle gleamed with a blend of metal and otherworldly bane blood based magic. The barrels were long and slender, crafted from a lustrous alloy that shimmered even in the dim light. Intricate runes and iconography etched along their lengths glowed faintly, hinting at the very essence that was woven into their very fabric. These runes, a dire repot of the fusion of arcane and engineering mastery, came with a unparalleled precision and power - for being hit by these rifles was akin to being hit by a Cannon.

The stocks were not of ordinary wood but of a dark, amber timber, polished to a smooth finish. They were adorned with carvings that depicted Gryphons in flight, their forms winding around the grip and extending towards the barrel.

The grip was wrapped in a odd leather, supple and resilient, providing a firm hold even in the midst of nightmarish close quarters combat. Above the grip, the lock mechanism was a oddity for atop of the lock was a crystalline object which allowed these rifles to fire with relative ease.

These were the rifles of the Royal Army, and with a quick click of their heels, the soldiers turned to face the duo. One of them stepped forward and, with a formal salute, said.

“Welcome to Karnithia.”

Drage's Golden Road Reopens

With trade increasing between various Dragean countries, Flakwenzer officially declares the Golden Road to be reinstituted into global trade agreements. As the Flak Empire's economy is still recovering from its early days, Empress Zhaiwein Flakwenzer is announcing that the nation's borders are freely open to all traders of the Dragean continent. Furthermore, on September 15, 1805, the capital city will be hosting a traditional lantern festival, open for all legal visitors.

As per the trading agreements which the Empress has proposed, Flakwenzer also requests that Dionysou provide Flakwian traders free transit through the Strait of Hellenos, on the basis that all products in transit comply with both parties' market regulations. In return, all incoming and outgoing trades shall prioritise the Dionysian markets and their respective taxes be negligable.

Okaidi Harbour, 1805 May 25

The city was bustling with activity, people were observing all the varying fine arts of Flakwian talents. As ships arrived, the sounds of the markets people only grew louder. There was a strong aroma of desserts, followed by exclamations of joy as people tried new and unique flavours. It was more of a celebration than a market.

As visitors came and went, locals could hear their gasps of astonishment as they viewed the unique architectures of the city. It was oriental, displaying the nation's love of nature, yet the harsh, Victorian brickwork brought out their love of complex art. There was more natural shade than in your typical city, despite the widened roads for carriages and early automobiles. Despite the industrial style of road, there were no street lights in sight, with all light being produced by decorative paper, gas lanterns.

With that, the entire scene was a menagerie of both goods and ideas being transferred. The varying architectures, ship designs, and even clothing were all marvelous spectacles that day. Even in the isolationist and exclusive nation of Flakwenzer, grand relations are formed and people bond with those whom they might never meet otherwise.

The Collapse of Kurbelandia: Karnithian Invasion

May 19, 1805

The sudden collapse of Kurbelandia, Karnithia’s northern neighbor, has sent shockwaves throughout the region. This unexpected disintegration was first reported by merchants traveling through the area, leading to widespread speculation and concern. In a swift and decisive response, which seemed to have been done with little hesitation, Karnithia launched an invasion aimed at securing and stabilizing the territory.

The invasion force comprised the seasoned troops of the former 12th Expeditionary Corps, who had recently expanded Karnithian control into the newly gained region of Delicia. Initially numbering 25,000 soldiers, this force was restructured into the First Delician Garrison. By early 1805, the garrison had grown to 55,000 men, earning its reformation into the 8th Royal Army.

On May 19, 1805, the day Kurbelandia’s collapse was confirmed, the 8th Army crossed the border. This movement acted as a declaration of war, had Kurbelandia not already descended into chaos. The exact reasons behind the nation’s sudden downfall remain unclear, but the potential for an anarchic state to exist and spread like wild fire threatened regional stability. The 8th Army's rapid advance through Kurbelandia was allowed by the Karnithia’s existing railway infrastructure within the region it expanded into barely three years ago, allowing for a near-blitzkrieg pace with minimal noteable resistance.

Rather than restoring the defunct government, Karnithia has made its intentions clear: complete annexation of Kurbelandia under the justification of returning stability but this was also motivated by the ambition to achieve the long-sought unification of the island of Selesic.

This decisive action showed Karnithia’s own desire to bring about regional dominance and stability. For The reformation of the 12th Expeditionary Corps into the formidable 8th Royal Army showed its ease of reorganization.

As Karnithian forces moved deeper into Kurbelandia, reports flowing in to the capital showed that the soldiers faced little organized resistance. The existing railway lines were instrumental in the rapid deployment of troops and supplies, making the 8th army’s advances deeper into Kurbelandia’s heartlands more feasible due to the railway network at its back.

After what seemed like a few days when in reality we’re a few weeks, Kurbelandia was now under Karnithian control, the political landscape of the region is set for significant change. For what seemed like successful annexation not only fulfills a long-standing national ambition but also brings about the promise of preventing further chaos.

Great Eurasian Unions

The new Duke, Senel III, knew change was needed to bring the ancient nation that was Estralia into the modern world, while he and his allies wanted to restore the ancient empire of Estralia no expansion would be feasible with a reasonable cost, this is due to the outdated military and old system of administration that hasn't changed ever since the times of the republic, not only that but several ethnic groups separate from the one present in the Duchy had settled in the lands previously owned by the empire, this issue being most notable in the south due to influence from the other nations in the region, in the start of his rule over the Duchy his first act was to slowly reform the army, while in the past we were a power to be scared of we now have an army that still refuses to adopt modern muskets and to learn new tactics due to, among other factors the general staff that rules over our troops and the lack of modern military technology in our nation, many of them received their titles from their families after the death of their father who led their troops before them, leading to a generational attachment to ancient weaponry and tactics due to both a lack of active threats against our Duchy due to the slow decline and fall of the barbarians who assaulted our nation in the past and the wide spread belief that reform will lead to the loss of their positions and power over the national army, recent negligence of our military technology by the last Duke only served to aggravate the issue as we had to make due with what our outdated workshops could produce.

In an attempt to fix the military issue the Duke started slowly opening the market to outsiders in an attempt to learn from foreign technologies and to import weaponry we couldn't produce efficiently on our own, the Duke also started hiring foreign staff to lecture our current officers and generals on modern tactics and technology, while some of our generals still refused to adopt many of the tactics presented to them due to either arrogance or a hate of outsiders, most were willing to learn from the foreigners, this led to a major increase in the quality of both our weaponry and general staff at the cost of gold and riches kept in the royal treasury of Estralia, as of now nothing has been done to deal with the outdated and inefficient system of administration present in the Duchy due to the consequences of opening our market to outsiders, something that is currently being managed by the Duke through direct intervention and diplomacy.

President Wesno said to Expand the Federation

They have also stated that they will be helping setting up the border in Dionysia. The Anti-slavery club cheered in the streets as the president sent supplies to the border. This was a good first couple of months for the new president of Palisade.

Consolidation of Power in Kurbelandia

Karnithian Herald, June 1805

Consolidation and Integration: The Next Steps in Kurbelandia

Following the swift and decisive annexation of Kurbelandia, Karnithian authorities have turned their attention to the process of integrating the newly acquired territories. The initial military successes having laid the groundwork for a stable future for Kurbelandia, but the real work begins now.

Establishing Governance and Control

Karnithian officials have already begun setting up administrative centers in key Kurbelandian cities. The appointment of local leaders who align with Karnithian interests is one of the main priorities to ensure a smooth transition from its old now collapsed government. these local officials will work alongside Karnithian governors to maintain order and implement new policies that would result in the slow yet steady integration of these lands into Karnithia proper.

Economic Development and Infrastructure

In a seemingly rush to boost the local economy, Karnithia has announced a series of infrastructure projects. Plans are underway to expand the existing railway network, connecting Kurbelandia’s cities to the broader Karnithian system. the main purpose of this is to encourage trade, movement, and economic integration for the newly acquired lands.

For the fertile lands of Kurbelandia offer untapped agricultural potential. Initiatives to modernize farming techniques which have seemingly fallen into slow crumbling ruin due to the inactivity of the previous government that once ruled these lands alongside with the focus of improving crop yields are being introduced, promising unseen prosperity for local Kurbelandian farmers and ensuring food security for the former Nation.

Military Presence and Security

While the annexation proceeded with relatively quick speed, remnants of Kurbelandian forces and potential insurgents pose a lingering threat. Karnithian military units have been deployed to secure major urban centers and critical infrastructure. Patrols and checkpoints are in place to maintain order and prevent potential unrest or deal with Kurbelandian military units who have yet to accept the collapse of their government, ready to fight a Gurrelia war in the country side against Karnithia as they have begun to pop up in the Northern provinces of Kurbelandia.
