I like your motto. Very fitting.

My motto originates in a contest where we were asked to change our mogtto to reflect our positive attitude towards Refugia, and it fitted well with the jolly nature of our nation.

It comes, as do all things, from the motto of the actual Junitaki-cho township. I thought it was appropriate to the region too.

So if you don't spend much time in the SC forum, good on you for making smart decisions. You might not have noticed a little thread about a proposal to Commend Portugal. This draft was put forth by Alentejo and Algarve, and aimed to commend the Portugal region of which they are the executive delegate. It was submitted without asking for feedback, marked as illegal twice, and generally seen unfavourably. In response, Alentejozinho and Algarvezinho put up this very snarky proposal to condemn Alentejo and Algarve for going against the SC grain. They claim to be two separate players; I don't believe them. Regardless of identity, this is more of a middle finger to the SC establishment than a genuine effort to recognize any achievement or actions, and it's baffling to me that Tinhampton requested it be brought to a vote.

As the recently elected "CWAA!", I'd typically want to stimulate some discussion and then form a written opinion prior to the vote. But given the frivolous nature of this referendum and its unexpectedly reaching quorum, I'm recommending against this proposal. There's room for humour in the SC, but not like this.

I've been watching this progress through the SC forum and it's just been one long train of toxicity. Beyond that, the author took their anger about Commend Portugal not going well far beyond just this proposal, to the point of being officially warned by the mods for being toxic. It's in bad faith, it's not terribly funny, and the author has been behaving awfully.

I'll be voting against this the second it's up for vote.

It's my IRL country's flag. The red symbolises "universal brotherhood and equality of man", and white symbolises "pervading and everlasting purity and virtue". The waxing crescent moon represents a "young nation on the ascendant". The five stars stand for the nation's ideals of "democracy, peace, progress, justice and equality"

My flag is my families coat of arms / shield from a bygone time when knights were still a thing.

Population(pops as I call them) grow naturally

They will have a constant growth rate regardless and so your population will rise, you dont need to build farms or something haha

As you get more pops you'll be able to have a Capitial city or a name for the leader or even a religion!

Mine is a combination of the Sami flag and the Progress Pride flag, as an evolution of the former flag which was a combination of the Sami and traditional Pride flags. I chose the combo as an homage to my heritage and to my identity.

I really can't tell you, because I don't know. Truth be told, I didn't even think about this stat until I glanced at the rankings one day and saw I was 3rd in the world. My real goal has always been Primitiveness and Religiousness, and the complete destruction of my nation's economy. Well, surely the only things I need for economy is my inefficient government and tourism, everything else, including that pernicious Manufacturing and Basket Weaving stuff, can gtfo.

I like to think my nation is an absurd parody of what American conservatives think a liberal state is like in reality, just as The Ascendant Hive is an absurd parody of what American liberals think a conservative state is like in reality.

And thank you, it looks like this is a much saner region than my last one. It was quite boring, to be honest, just one fellow me posting stat updates daily on the RMB.

All likes in this region are manually done, if that's what you mean.

Part of the reason I like the posts on the RMB is to confirm to myself when I look back at the RMB that I actually saw the post and read it. I don't agree with the reasoning behind someone getting punished for that unless its automated or being used to harass but I think I'll be fine.

The instances in the thread does not describe the climate of Refugia. There is not a disproportionate ratio of likes to posts, and there haven't been any requests to stop or claims of harassment submitted on this RMB or to the government.

I would caution such warnings being posted here, or the suggestion of mod action out of the blue. As was described in the thread, it is a phenomena that is common in Forest and, indeed, it is common here as well.

Until it is reported. As in the thread, it does not appear in the One Stop Shop, and at the time the report happened, it was during a period of time when the Pacific's RMB was under attack by politically motivated spammers (re: 2018, the end of Francoism in The Pacific and the changing of governments), who did their utmost best to disrupt the RMB culture. Like-botting was one of those things that disappeared, but has made a resurgence, until the next time.

It might be that I'm used to a certain style of English, but there are some grammatical and spelling issues in the text that rub me the wrong way. Mainly the use of "nation's" to mean non-possessive plural instead of possessive-singular. It happens a few times at the beginning, most notably here:

Having read the thread, a couple people mentioned the grammatical errors, but only in passing and they were never addressed. Also, the over-reliance on the word dark makes much more sense in retrospect, knowing that NG created the site's dark theme. In fact, that's the entire point of the commendation, but they're trying to get around the fact that NG is site staff. So they highlight these indexes that other people contributed to and he just put into a thread. Which is neat, but I don't think it's commendable at all.

It reads very similarly to Free Joy State; an attempt to appease a member of site staff for work they mostly did as staff (which isn't legal). It's padded and the author tries to be sneaky about it, but it's pretty obvious to me. I'm leaning against.

I agree, and may have had a lot to say about it elsewhere lol. Needless to say, the amount of references to the word dark or shadowy is overbearing and takes a lot away, imo.

If they'd been included, I'd vote for them. As it stands, the text in my opinion isn't enough to warrant.

The answer is a bit more complex than what others said above. First, it may take some time. And Second, while you will (most likely) eventually get an issue allowing you to ban polygamy, such a ban might also have other unwanted consequences. This game is devised as a Challenge, and you usally chose the least evil of bad options (unless you choose Dismiss, which, in my opinion, goes against the spiritg of the game, but sometimes you just have no choice).

Congratulations! I personally liked Chatula's entry a lot, and am glad it won (even if only at 2nd place).

All flags were great, and I had a hard time chosing only five. I no longer remember exactly whom I voted for (except the one I mentioned above). In my belief, participation itself is its own reward. So, congratulations and a big thank you to everyone who participated!

Please refrain from spamming the RMB. Your environment will never get you banned or kicked from Refugia, however, the abuse of the RMB can and will if it continues. The purpose of endorsements in a region is to increase the influence of the region itself (each endorsement given to a WA Delegate, ours being Sylh Alanor, will increase our region's voting power in the World Assembly) and to increase our individual influence stats.

I thought I'd ferry us toward election month with a bang. For my final embassy recommendation of my term as Councillor of Foreign Affairs, I'd like to submit 10000 Islands. They're established, they're stable, they often vote the same way we do on WA matters, all good things. But the most important part to me is that a lot of people from that sphere have moved into the Refugia chat and our region and have been wonderful friends to us.
