Good Afternoon All,

Few Of You Have Been Asking Me What My Goals Would Be For The Position of FA and what I would do.

I would summarize them as such,

1. (Most Important In My Opinion) Make New Friends In Different Regions

We here in Refugia are awesome.. everyone here deserves medals and pats on the back! I have never met a kinder community online, so why not move our mission of kindness and love out across the world. My goal is to help facilitate this kindness in other communities that share our beliefs and values. More friends equal more opportunities for our regions to work together towards a common goal!

2. Re-Establish Old Embassies

Looking through some of the FA dispatches in the past, there have been some runes that have been deactivated for one reason or another. My goal as a Foreign Affairs officer is to bridge these gaps again and work on improving relationships with the regions we have portals for already. The more connected with what is going on in the world the more we can help and make more of make for ourselves.

3. Get Your Input

What's the point in having elections when your voice is not heard? If I am elected your FA Officer I want to base my decisions based on what you guys think either here on the Refugia MB or on Discord. Every voice is valid and is the hallmark of elections, we as a region need to make decisions together to grow closer and achieve a goal of prosperity in Refugia.

4. Work on Multi-Region Alliance Systems

Yes The WA is nice and all, but you can't make much of a difference if your a smaller nation like myself. As your FA officer, I will try to create a "United Regions" group made up of representative states from different regions across the world to discuss and try our best to solve problems and create compromises.

One of mine is "Greater Phoenix Cat attack". The Greater Phoenix Cat is the world's only species of flying cat, I can imagine that one of them swooping down to treat you like a mouse toy on a string would be fairly deadly.

Sometimes you have to make sacrifices for the greater good.

For my own personal inquiry...

Djorner, your campaign mentions that you intend to re-open embassies with regions that we no longer have diplomatic ties with. We've had some pretty heated conflicts and irreconcilable differences with some regions in the past which are still fresh on our minds, why is this a good idea and how will you convince Refugi to support these referendums? What regional alliances might you be interested in joining and why do you think Refugia would be better off within them?

Sylh Alanor, your previous term as Councillor was themed around an axe, cutting away at old or undesirable embassies. Might we expect more embassies vanquished in the term to come? What are some regions you are looking into to expand the scope of our foreign affairs, and to what extent do you believe historically isolationist Refugia should be active in foreign affairs?

I'm actually really happy with our embassies. There's always a chance that one of our embassies will do something unexpected or problematic, but we'll cross that bridge if it shows up. As of right now, however, I think that the axe can be hung up for another term, and instead we can focus on growing. At the end of my last term, we added some very large embassies, namely Spiritus and XKI, and this time I'd prefer to look for smaller embassies this time. Right now, my main considerations are Celtia and Kantrias. Both are on the smaller side, but have been relatively stable for some time (Celtia since late 2020 and Kantrias, a ten-year-old region, has been hovering around 100 nations since early 2020). I'll be on the lookout for other regions as we go, and I hope that Refugi would pass along regions they might also be interested in.

I think our level of isolationism is still fine, and I don't think much needs to change in that department. If anything, I think it'd be nice to invite our friends from the embassy regions to attend our movie nights or do interregional game nights, but outside that I think our relationships are pretty strong. As CoFA, I'd personally be trying to post more in other RMBs, and encouraging them do the same with ours. XKI invited us to a couple events last year, and I think we'll be considered for more this year, especially if we team up with Spiritus and friends on N-Day. That said, I don't think we have to project outside our embassies.

Glad you asked this question Arch Administrator. I know I have not been in this region to see these relationships fall and don't have all the details. But don't we all agree that we should take the high road and look for possible reconciliations with these regions. Even if is not possible I believe that there is always a way to repair and recreate these severed relationships. I also believe that we as a region will be behind forgiving and being the bigger region, it shows the strong resilience of this region that I know we have. I know many of our nations here support Refugi isolation and I respect that entirely, everyone here is entitled to their own opinions and values. I feel while yes we do not want to lose our identity as a region we should still make our presence known in other regions. I don't support building relationships with nations that do not share Refugi values and beliefs however I'm also as left as they come. These decisions will be put to vote in the region deciding whether to re-establish or to wait on the establishment of embassies to these former regions. The decision will be entirely up to the member states.

For the second part of your question, I believe we should join or even create unions with regions that share our central values and beliefs. Some of these regions include Cape Of Good Hope, The Union Of Democratic States, and Osiris to name a few. These regions agree with our goals and values and if we all work together, have our nations meet with other nations, make friendships, create bonds, it will create surely something special. I hope I have answered your question to your expectations, and again I hope you all consider me for the councilor of Foreign Affairs.

I can honestly say you are one of the people in this region whom I truly like and enjoy reading posts by. You could perhaps take a piece of paper and pen and write down:

* 5 reasons for which you think poorly of yourself,

* Each followed by a reason why you have a redeeming quality that cancels that.

I'm sure you'll find enough of the latter. And the exercise would boost your self-esteem a bit.

You may choose to keep this paper then in a safe drawer, or share its contents with some close friends--totally up to you.

A counsellor I worked with suggested this to me when I was in a similar state of mind.

P.S. In case you were joking, feel free to ignore this advice.

You'll need lots of patience, but if you keep answering or dismissing issues, it will eventually come.
