Before the polls close, I would like to ask for your support in my campaign for councillor of culture. In that position I will:

-Continue to define the Refugi community by connecting the Refugi nations through various activities.

-Write a Refugi anthem

-Make an official daily question so that people will get to know each other more.

-Make an official Refugi currency

-Make an official Refugi holiday

-And much more

Thank you for your support!

If you mean Nationstates, I can get why, it can get pretty repetitive and is not for everyone.

If uh, the actual world, I am not the best person for this, but I will try to help. I'd really recommend talking to trustworthy people of yours, or contacting a suicide prevention hotline. Just know that you're never alone.

It can be a miserable experience if it gets to the point where it causes you more stress then enjoyment, but in my opinion, as long as you keep yourself in places that you truly want to be and aren't detracting from your enjoyment of it, then you're doing nothing wrong. It's a game, and shouldn't be a burden too us! :)

Hello Refugia! It's time for a World Assembly discussion post. This one is on Condemn Gholgoth.

Condemn Gholgoth is a proposal to condemn a RP region infamous for its many evil nations, with Automagfreek (the founder) and the Kraven Corporation, a longtime resident, both formerly condemned for RP.

This isn’t your usual condemn. While still split into clauses, it’s not some Horrified Disgusted Verbed resolution. Rather, it reads out like an argument, describing all the villainous nations in the region like a list of grievances, though far more fleshed out. The writing style is great, and the nominee is very deserving, in my opinion.

What are your thoughts?

This is, far and away, the absolute best written proposal I have seen in the WA. The flavor and delivery are truly elevating, a fantastic call to action. If more RP can leach its way into the WA like this, I would be delighted.

This game really loves to increase taxes. Once in a while you get an issue which will allow you to give your citizens a tax cut or a tax break or stuff like that, but they are pretty rare, and most issues increase taxes more and more.

I think the answer to that will differ for everyone. Personally, I like scribbling out new ideas for factbooks, and making new banners and flags. Also, over time, I ended up creating MANY nations, and so I can cycle through them and work on each one's stats. Then there's the trading cards, which, if you have a collector's mindset like myself, can be a fun and mindless way to whittle away spare time. Many folks enjoy the forums, whether for debating legislature in the General Assembly, roleplaying with their nations in the RP sections, or just playing forum games in the casual section.

The style of the condemnation shines through. Its theme was brilliantly conceived and carried out, culminating with the second, concise part, addressed directly to the condemned region, which adds to the dramatic effect. If any Condemnation deserves voting for, This is it.

Azelandia wrote:I work at a bank so I read CD's as certificates of deposit. Lord.

I ocassionally buy certain music albums which happen to be unavailable to me in MP3 format or in my favourite streaming service, so I still buy a CD every once in a blue moon (I don't have any Vinyl Record-player). But I see less and less Music being offered on CD's these days. It is definitely on the decline.

I have a huge collection of Vinyl Records, inherited from my parents. I attempted to find someone to pick them up for free, but then changed my mind. Eventually, my current CD-playing device (a laptop with an Optic drive) will fail, as all hardware eventually does, and my next computer will be unlike to have any such drive. I'll be forced to switch to a Record-playing device then, and am now saving those old records for that day (hoping they are not too dust-filled or scratched).

Chacapoya, Typica, Sylh Alanor, Araine, Floofybit, Tiralta, Polushia

I had a CD player up until almost exactly 3 years ago, when I replaced it with my phone. It’s really strange to think that people just a decade younger than me will never know what a CD is.

I still buy some music on CDs, mostly when it's literally impossible to get the music through any other means. I don't think I've bought a game CD in quite a while though... The last might actually be Dark Crusade or one of the times I rebought genefrog, but I think those are digital only now too

thats epic!

Yeah, if you tend to go for morals or protecting the ecosystem it will take a bit longer as the game tends to set the ecosystem against the economy a lot, but overall if you stick to the economy (even whilst protecting yoru ecosystem and/or morals) you'll get there eventually - my main nation has a pretty good ecosystem and near 100 economy, so it's possible!

Delta Vega Iv, Chacapoya, Typica, Sylh Alanor, Araine, Floofybit, Tiralta

Cheesy Tots is right, the game sort of follows a "bad morals get economic gains in the short term" and "good morals get economic gains over the long term" system. It can be frustrating when you're getting started but you'll get there.

While we have no one with any great knowledge of the nucleus of the atom, we do have some first-rate experts on the remaining 99.9% of empty space which constitutes the rest of the atomic structure. Contrary to popular belief, this space is not "empty" in the classical sense, but rather comprises a sort of cloud composed of sub-atomic particles which our learned thinkers have termed "halcyons." These halcyons are thought to be fundamental to the quiet, tranquil nature of all of this "empty space" within the atom, and much work has been done to harness all of that stillness - not for the purpose of creating energy, but rather its opposite: lotophagic energy. Should you wish, researchers at our nationalized Lotus Energy utility may be made available to you.

That sounds closer to some form of Social Democracy more than anything. Something similar but not inherently the same as the Nordic model in Scandinavia.

The existence of money and private property is inherently antithetical to communism, to say nothing of what appears to be a free market system wherein you can buy almost anything. While the presence of strong social welfare is supported by communist principles, it is more of an effect, rather than a hallmark of said system.

Setting all of it aside, there's definitely a sizeable number of communist nations in our region.

Hello Refugia! It's time for a World Assembly discussion post. This one is on Repeal "LEO Force Restrictions".

Repeal "LEO Force Restrictions" is a proposal to repeal GA#590 for its narrow assumptions in a broad range of law enforcement departments across thousands of nations, its after-the-fact criminalization of some measures taken by law enforcement officers if found in retrospect that a less forceful measure was possible, and its criminalization of homicide by LEOs in all scenarios, even where necessary for public safety.

I don't know how up for debate the points are because GA#590 does include these flaws. The big question is whether or not these points validate a repeal.

The first flaw (assumptions of technology or methods) is valid and rather uncontroversial. The second flaw of retrospective realization that there were less forceful measures available but not taken is more controversial due to numerous police brutality issues in real life that likely prompted GA#590. Now, yes, ideally excessive force isn't used. But to me, there are scenarios where, in the heat of the moment, against legitimate criminals, a LEO may neutralize a target in a way that wasn't the least forceful possible, but it would be unfair to call it police brutality, and detrimental to the effort of stopping crime to criminalize. The third flaw makes sense in most cases but it's undeniable that sometimes a criminal must be killed to protect the public. The LEO is protecting the public by doing this, which is their job. This should not be illegal.

Overall, I'm for.

What are your thoughts?
