I highly recommend the Councillor of Interior position. It's a good low-energy, yet still important, Councillor position which will help you prepare yourself for other Councillor positions you may be interested in but don't yet feel qualified or experienced enough for.

That I remember? Probably cold spray shots. Not fun, do not recommend. If I’m talking pain over time definitely breaking my arm tho. Mostly cuz I walked around school for almost the whole day after I broke it like yeah it just hurts, the fact that I can’t bend my elbow without dying is totally okay. I think I ended up going home when I was trying to write with that arm and every time I moved my fingers it was like searing pain. I think my teachers were like pls go to the hospital my boy. Was anyone else the “Meh I don’t wanna bother anyone” kid? Cuz like that was definitely me

I have a genetic disorder which is extremely, extremely rare and because of that I have many health issues, one of which being my bladder. I had to get a needle stuck up a... well... unconventional spot that inserted a long tube going far up all the way to my bladder, then filling a balloon inside it with liquid. It was the worst thing imaginable. I would have rather gotten heart surgery again, or had casts on both my legs for 6 weeks again but... it is what it is.

When I displaced my collarbone after I had heart surgery. It felt like my whole spine was dislocating whenever I moved my head or arms wrong.

Last year I had a toothache from an awful cavity and bacterial infection, that led to headaches, earaches, and more all compounding together. Eating hurt because my teeth kept clacking together. It was hard to even swallow sometimes. I couldn't lie my head down on that side, but lying on the other side also hurt. I couldn't brush my teeth, and I was limited basically to mashed potatoes, applesauce, and yogurt. I was crying, like, daily for a week.

Eventually I got the tooth pulled, and some antibiotics, but Jesus. I never want pain like that again.

Boring answer is probably when I had a tooth that broke and couldn't get a dentist appointment for a week. More exciting answer is probably when I was ten and went down a slide holding a metal pole, which hit the ground before I did and jammed me in the eye. It took a while for them to realise I'd cut my eyelid but somehow my eye was okay, but I still had to wear an eyepatch to school for a few weeks and got made fun of for it.

I thought about this for a bit to try and remember something but what I could remember wasn't very extraordinary compared to other people's stories...

I was at a pool party with my friends and one of their sisters. The sister tried to push me into the pool and grabbed me from behind so she had the tactical advantage and I tried to grab onto the metal part of the pool screen to help steady myself. Unfortunately for me they had installed chicken wire along the bottom of their screen because they had a young dog who tried to scratch at the screen so I missed the metal part of the screen and instead ripped open my ring finger on my right hand all the way down to the bone. I did NOT get pushed into the pool though, so mission success.

Sorry for not being more on top of things regarding WA duties lately. I haven't been feeling well recently and didn't feel like I could make much of an educated impact on the stuff at vote. Currently, however, there's a proposal titled Right to Secure Digital Communication set to go to vote tomorrow morning.

I'll do a full summary of this tomorrow when I write up an IFV, but the gist of this one is that it's about securing people's right to use encrypted communication methods without state interference. I like the idea and think it's worthwhile. A couple of possible concerns:

- The definition of secure communication methods. I don't like the inclusion of intent here, as it leaves room for an argument that some methods of communication don't set out to protect the data being transmitted and therefore may be impeded by a corrupt state.

- 2(d) only prevents the requirement of backdoors which allow the state to spy, and not a third party. This may be covered by other components of clause 2, but it's a strange omission.

- 2(c). It sounds good until you realize how many methods of communication are inherently insecure. Email isn't secure in most applications. Neither are telephone signals. I suppose this means nations would have to develop secure protocols for all of these in order to continue to use digital communication effectively, and while that's good in the end, it's unclear whether this was the intent of the author.

I don't particularly care for the writing and practices of Greater Cesnica, but I will take the time to back up some of these arguments.

For the structure of the definitions, I really think it's poorly done. The definitions are long and winding and include content that functionally should have been in the preamble. This sounds like a nitpick, but really the purpose of a definition is to act like a placeholder text. To explicitly define something that otherwise might be ambiguous. So such definitions should work like a simple replacement of content so that you understand the context of the clause. What does that look like here? Well it basically looks like this

Agreed. Presumably something intended to protect data (or not) is a sentiment that would be known beforehand, but it does rather depend on it being known beforehand. That may not be possible to determine, even in a good faith interpretation, especially for situations where you could encounter something new.

Yes true, but I don't believe it's that important. Strictly speaking, in order to get around this, you would need to construct a section telling member states they must pass laws to prevent unauthorised third party access to encrypted communications. This concept would likely get pushback from the folks who believe that, for example, a school should be able to intercept everything that passes through their library computers. Or employers intercepting things that happen on office computers. It turns into a larger thing in a hurry.

Possibly this resolution suffers from the lack of a statement saying that a government cannot purchase or legally coerce a third party into giving them intercepted communications, both this and the above comments are perfectly acceptable to have in a separate and complimentary resolution dedicated to them.

I don't agree with this interpretation. The text reads

"Prohibits member states from ... Requiring the usage of insecure encryption methods, technologies, or standards, or"

This does not mean that using unencrypted data transmission is prohibited. You can continue writing letters, making phone calls and speaking. It means that the government cannot force citizens to use encryption methods which do not effectively accomplish encryption or are intentionally sabotaged. There is a conversation to be had about whether an encryption method that is traditionally considered to be "good" can be insecure if any theoretical situation could be thought of where it were be broken into. But I don't think there's anything wrong with this section as written.

Leaning towards support from me, personally.

Hello, I’m here to officially announce my candidacy for Councillor of Culture.

During my previous tenure as Councillor of Culture, the regional requirement for Eco-Reports was established, and I produced five, which are collected along with two ‘Culture Reports’ here. I plan on posting these regularly, using the wonderful additions that Luca added during her tenure as Councillor of Culture.

Those Refugi present in our discord server may take note of my regular (over the past month) hosting of game nights, playing Tetr.io, Skribbl.io, and Uno together as a group. As Councillor of Culture, I would schedule these more formally as Refugi Game Nights, and post those schedules and links in both the Discord and the RMB so that those gameside Refugi could join in.

I also plan on introducing regular movie or tv nights, where we get together collectively and watch something together while being able to chat with each other. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to get to know our embassy regions better as well, as we’ve already received interest (in my former capacity as Councillor of Foreign Affairs) from XKI to have collaborative movie nights. I'd be happy to work with culture departments in other friendly spaces as well.

Finally, I hope to move some more traffic to our forum, where we have RPs, spam games, and the potential for more personal and private discussions with one another. This could ultimately result in adding new features to CalRef/Refugia, given the interest these things have so far gathered.

In all, my goals for the upcoming term are to bring us closer together as a community, so that we can be better friends to one another and feel like we have others who care about us. And I think it’s highly possible.

Good afternoon. I’ll tell you the same thing I told the person yesterday who came into the region in a near identical manner with the exact same problem.

If you are unable to get into the discord, there are two reasons why that would be:

1. You have been banned from the server in the past, in which case I would advise and ask you to leave.

2. A problem on your end in which case I can’t help you, but as far as I know, discord is pretty dang good about invites, so if the message is saying it’s invalid, the answer is all but certainly the first reason.

Beyond that, I cannot help you. I've heard in the past that some people who have parental controls or have filtered school internet cannot use Discord, but that is obviously not something I can do anything about.
