In seeing there are more active nations than open positions within the government, hereby establishes the Refugia Council seat by the name of Subadent. It is to be filled and may only be filled by Subadent.

It resolves.

For off-site CalRef, best guess? Be active in the community and contribute substantially to the area that you oversee and when there's a need, admins will float names to fill a seat. Things within the community are pretty darn calm, right now.

Fortunately, it takes significantly less time to run for regional officer. ;)

So Omegaforce's alt is back at trying to get RO abilities in regions he just joined.

I'd like to announce my immediate resignation from my post as Councillor of Foreign Affairs. I don't feel like I'm in a position for so much responsibility at the moment, and I'd like to make the position available to someone with more time, energy and interest to put to use.

I've been awfully spent and quite inactive in Refugia and CalRef of late, and I'm working on changing that.

Per RRS. 8(b), I will be appointing an acting foreign councillor for the remainder of Áth's term from the winner of a special election.

The Councillor of Foreign Affairs' responsibilities are defined as management and maintenance of the travel portals within the region, foreign affairs and authority over embassies established to outside regions, diplomatic negotiations and foreign correspondence. The remainder of the current term ends January 7th. Member States have four days to announce their candidacy, starting now. The election will begin at the conclusion of the current referendum and will last five days.

Refuge Isle - I read your resolution and I see what you're getting at, but if you want a repeal proposal to be successful you should include a suggestion or dedicate a part of the proposal to a more effective solution to the problems the original resolution adresses. I voted yes anyway, because I believe that, for the most part, the resolution under fire is against the Jectilanic way. We don't make anything that does not directly harm anyone or restrict their freedoms unlawful. Absolute political and civil freedom is our goal.

It seemed like you recognized the potential hazards too, but okay.

Oh, yes I am. I need to familiarize myself with the format if I am going to get anywhere. Is there somewhere I can find documents relating to it?

Hi Montanaius, welcome to our region. I'm not really sure how to describe how left something or other is; while several of us are fond of socialism as an economic system, there are others who aren't. Our main focuses as a region (which can be found in our official document, the Revised Statutes) are environmentalism and human rights. I don't really consider these things political, because I think they're issues that transcend partisanship, but I understand some people don't agree with that. Do you have a specific metric or issue that you want a general opinion on that will help you come to a decision?

Also, we don't have an official Discord server. We do, on the other hand, have an official forum at (https://calref.cc/index.php). A lot of us weren't really happy on Discord and wanted to utilise a platform that allowed ideas and conversations to be sorted into different threads and encouraged thoughtful conversation.

Of course, if you have suggestions for the region, we're always happy to have new members step up and make requests!

Happy December, friends. I'm beginning to work on the Eco-Report, but I want to let us all down real easy, so here's the preview.

We made our mark with Eco-Friendliness. The regional average hit 5000 earlier this month. With the arrival of so many newly-created nations, however, both our average for Eco-Friendliness and our average for Environmental Beauty have dropped significantly. I think the trade-off is good, though. We have a lot of new people who will help us to carry on our goals, and it'll make us even stronger in the future! :)

The referendum to adopt Sylh Alanor's amendment to the Refugia Revised Statutes has passed in a vote of 6 - 0, with 4 abstentions. It has been incorporated into law: https://www.nationstates.net/page=dispatch/id=1200707

Without a second party to challenge the CoFA, Subadent has been appointed the Councillor or Foreign Affairs, tasked with carrying out the responsibilities of that role for the remainder of Athidill's term. It will be the first position up for the election cycle, which will begin in about a month.
