Best of luck then. I've been here since Refugia was made and it's been anything but repetitive, but everyone's different and has different needs.

Being in perpetual election mode isnt so bad.

I'm not sure how you've reached this conclusion. There's a lot to do on the site if you have the will and mind to do it. Probably looking at NationStates in terms of "answer issues" is the most superficial and surface-level of interactions. Probably if you believe this is the extent of it, learning how to play the game is in order. There is a great deal to do on the site, such that it can eclipse all possible time you have for it. The level of involvement is up to you.

On the most basic level beyond issues, there's the World Assembly. A UN-like institution where all members and their respective delegates write, propose, and vote on these resolutions. This region is, itself, home to some world-class politicians and resolution authors, including Honeydew, Moon, former WA councillor Junitaki-cho, our delegate Sylh Alanor, and myself. These political battles can encapsulate the world depending on their subject matter and how controversial and spirited the fight is. Both the General Assembly and Security Council are sub-games in their own right.

There is regional politics and administration, how we actually run things here in the region and what our regional laws are. The Regional Council of Refugia determines how to keep us all together, competent, coherent, a desirable place to live, and a respectable establishment on the world stage. Each of the Councillors have independent agency over their own domains, including how we handle crises, what foreign alliances we have and how we interact with them, what sort of events we can come up with, and what forces out there seek to cause us harm. Any of these areas are also schools of focus on their own, as a substantial amount of work does into region-building. A lot of this administration happens on our regional chat, which I don't believe you've ever joined. But if you were interested in becoming more involved, any such area is an option.

Military gameplay, the meta-game involving raiding and defending is also a significant sub-game on NS, although not one that we undertake here. There is a lot to do on the site, the only difference is that they are possibilities that you can undertake if you're so inclined -- no one is going to give you a life-plan and say what to do on your behalf.

If you feel you're best suited away from Refugia, that's fine. But you should at least be aware of your environment and what all exists in it.

Traveling the world is free in NationStates unlike the real world.

You can always make multiple nations and move those into other regions. Then you experience Refugia and wherever else at the same time! That's what I've done, this isn't my main nation. I have 4 alts, LFG (this one) being my current WA nation and one of my favourites (mostly because of this friendly region I was fortunate to land it in).

I have not eaten PopTarts in a very long time. Even so, based on memory alone, I would have to go with the s'more flavored ones.

I would tighten it but still allow for immigration to happen, just at a slower rate.

The best option is to wait for another issue to pop up that allows a reversal of your new policy.
