Election Update:

I believe that I only received one candidate for Councillor of World Assembly Affairs in the allotted time period, and that was from Minskievian Refugees. By default, they will be replacing outgoing Councillor Dacay following the conclusion of the remainder of their term, at the end of the day February 28th. We will magically be able to continue the trend of only having WA authors as councillors somehow 😆

This is also concludes our last election of this cycle although stay tuned and I'll see about getting up some simplification legislation to make things easier next time.

Well, I don't think that will work since, for example, Germany is dependent on Russia for 38% of its crude oil, so if Germany does that, Russia will do the same and they will both be unstable on something, And also it gets worse. Apparently, 100% of Finland's and Estonia's natural gas is from Russia.

What I am saying is that most of Europe is dependent on Russia.

On the situation in Ukraine, I'm refraining from commenting because I have no geopolitics background, and no knowledge or experience when it comes to Ukraine or Russia.

That's not to say people can't discuss ongoing news stories, but it's useful to remember that there's a lot of propaganda from the western imperialism powers forcing their way into the situation, and a lot of propaganda from the Russian imperialists painting Ukraine to be awful. And I as a person living in western Canada cannot accurately add to the conversation.

I want to take this time to state my opinion on the Russia Ukraine Scenario, I know it has probably have been talked about to death here, but since I heard about it I was shocked. I have a good deal of family that live in Ukraine, and we have been trying to contact them to at least confirm they are alive. I took off the internet for the last few days to ponder and just reflect on the state of the world we live in. This attack was clearly not justified on Russia's part. Every excuse Russia has tried to use to justify invading Ukraine has been half-backed and simply untrue. They claim that Ukraine was trying to bring an era of Nazisim to eastern Europe. Even though President Zalinsky is Jewish and lost his family in the terrible holocaust that happened oh so long ago. I personally think it is an attempt to bring forth a new Russian power in eastern Europe like during the cold war. When the USSR strengthened its power against its satellite states by twisting its arms to sign the Warsaw Pact. Now, I do not think they are trying to reinstate the Soviet Union, that thing has been long dead for some thirty years now. I think they are trying to set up a Russian sphere of influence across Eastern Europe and Western Asia. I feel it is our duty as citizens of the free world to support our Ukrainian friends. I have already donated to several charities to help Ukraine fight against these oppressors. I am not saying you all need to... but we need to spread the word, let the people of our nations know that we will not let Putin get away with this. This blatant act of aggression should never go unpunished, I support the sanctions that have been levied on the Russian government as I always have believed non-violent deterrents are always the way to go. I am going to leave this message with a quote I found very interesting and definitely I think fits today's atmosphere.

Relateable my friend, my family and my friends family have been trying to contact my friend's grandparents, as I stated before, they are in the countryside of Ukraine, still in the country, meanwhile, all we have here is hope that they can get out safely, as far as we know, they are not in an area occupied by the Russians, I wish for all peoples of Ukraine will be safe, but realistically (and sadly) stuff like this happens a lot more around the world and western media does not cover it unless it has to do with oil, Russia, or China, good luck to all, and as the anthem implies, Ukraine has not yet perished.

And I don't think USA would want to spy on China, their relationship is not THAT bad.
