Any thoughts on the current Security Council resolution?

I have to admit, it was pretty fun to read and the history told(which I din't know about) was pretty convincing so I voted FOR

The purpose of the text is to manufacture history for the target region to make dramatic the destruction of the N-Day faction with a structure that is generally used for regions which have been raided. The target, however, has not been raided. Prior to the proposal submission the region was functionally only made up with Feu De Glace's placeholder puppet.

The acrostics of the text read "NOSHIELDS". The resolution is intended to be a jab at our Operations Councillor's N-Day faction, which was the third largest by volume and one of the earliest destroyed. The proposal is written and campaigned for by two members of the faction who carried out the destruction, although not specifically the player who did so.

So I need to explain why I'm going to be voting Against the current GA resolution-at-vote, Transgender Self-Determination. And I'm very resentful of this.

This proposal should never have made it to vote. It's highly cynical and opportunistic by the author, who is hoping to profit off of the LGBT vote. It's been called out from its inception in the GA thread because it does nothing at all to help trans people that hasn't already been done by other resolutions. It got counter-campaigned, and the author of the counter-campaign telegram states her reasoning in a post I've linked below, though I'm only quoting the amount relevant to my argument:

Please follow through and read the rest of her post, but ultimately what she's saying is that this proposal does nothing that previous resolutions haven't already accomplished. It's a completely empty document that will do nothing but get transphobic reactionaries to come out of the woodwork trying to repeal it and every other trans rights proposal that's been passed since the beginning of time. This happened with the last proposal helping trans rights (and doing something substantial), and it's happened with every previous one as well.

This has a huge problematic PR element to it. If it passes, it's done nothing and shows that cynical people can write empty resolutions and get them to pass because nobody wants to vote against something with an LGBT-positive title. If it fails, it looks like a PR victory for the transphobic element of NationStates. But I really can't bring myself to vote for this. I'm sorry if that disappoints some of you, I really hope you can understand my reasoning.

One of my best friends studies agriculture at the University.We have decided to start an agricultural cooperative after our graduation,with a couple of other friends.Don't know how far this project will go,but at least we wish to become food-independent.What do you think about bussiness cooperativism? Howdy folkens, I'm announcing my candidacy for the position of Ops Councillor.

I have held this position two times in the past, during which I have dealt with multiple threats to Refugia. In fact, last year the Shadow Council of Chacapoya led Refugia during the annual Z-Day event, during which the region was cured completely of the zombie virus in less than six hours, with nary a soul lost. I am active in both the rmb and Discord, and intend to do my best in protecting Refugia from threats inside and out, living or undead. It is my hope that I get to run Z-Day again, and that I can again serve this wonderful region, and everyone who lives here.

I am happy to answer any questions that anyone may have, but none related to the aforementioned Shadow Council.

Our delegate gave an explanation of her vote a couple of posts ago.

They're not restricted, there are currently four resolutions in place to entirely allow for this. The author of this resolution at vote tried to make out like this was an oversight, but it simply wasn't. I don't like the idea of rewarding the idea that everyone will vote for something that has an lgbt title just because it has an lgbt positive title. I find it super cynical.

But if it’s genuinely an inclusive and good bill then what’s wrong with it? It seems fine to me?

You lost the region's vote and you can't seem to let it go after months.

Do not approach this region again. Let it go, move on with your life. You're either retired or you are not.

Every human is meant to have 2 arms. But, there are more people who have lost an arm or both (to an accident, been born without it, etc) than there are people with an extra arm (which is possible probably but I don't know of any cases) so the average is slightly less than 2.

It appears no one else was up to the challenge of contending with Chacapoya intimidating candidacy. As the nomination period for Operations Councillor comes to a close, Refugia is very excited to see the return of this world-class intel expert and foremost researcher on zombies (pocket or otherwise). Clearly, I should be elected as Councillor of Foreign Affairs. In collaboration with the Operations Councillor, we'll build a wall around Refugia to keep the zombies out. Hello there, President of Allokyus here with news about our joint mission. After reaching Jupiter's moon, the frigate started to drill through the thick ice. After hours drilling a hole, they discovered a very deep ocean beneath the ice layer and guess what? Microbial life signs have been detected 8 km deep into the waters! That means that Titan's oceans are able to sustain life! We are sending deep-sea probes to investigate deeper into the oceans. The probe will be constructed inside a vacuum chamber to avoid contamination by Earth bacteria. The lauching is scheduled for next week. If there really microbial life in there, it could finally answer if we are truly alone on the universe. President of Allokyus out.
