The cure research for everyone was reset to zero about 45 minutes ago as well, so it's not just inactivity that led to the low progress, don't worry.

Gonna be curing for a while - gonna try to wake up at a decent enough time so I can keep going too, so probably only gonna be up for another hour tops.

It's good to know that refuge is naturally curing now

As of a few moments ago, the last zomb in the region was purified by a curing missile and Refugia stands entirely zombie-free. Though we did not save everyone this year, we still did much better than 95% of regions who were entirely overwhelmed and now very dead, as the world graph indicates. Celebrate!

We are now free to pursue life as usual, which in this case means putting together an election. It comes a day late, but if I had run it earlier I would have been Justin Trudeau.

There is now an election for the Councillor of World Assembly Affairs and, strangely, the only real election that was had this term. I received two valid entries during the extended candidacy period. Those being the nations of Dacay, and the nation of Sankaradomin. Those nations now appear on the election ballot.

All Member States are allowed to vote in this election, this includes every nation which has been a World Assembly nation in our region for the last seven days, as well as those which have been given a unanimous exemption by the Regional Council. Sure! Although I'm not exactly experienced at this stuff, so it might be a bit iffy.

The current GA resolution at-vote, "Homelessness Mitigation And Protection Act", seeks to address the issue of homelessness in member nations and implement guidelines to ensure reliable housing access to their populations. It also protects the homeless from discrimination in different areas and mandates member nations to provide equal, adequate services and facilities to them so that they too can lead a reasonable life. It establishes a WA-run administrative body to oversee its execution and allocates financial aid to economically weak nations.

I'm definitely in favor of this and am kind of surprised seeing that a specific resolution combatting homelessness hasn't passed already, but better late than never. Homelessness remains a common yet often overlooked problem in many nations and there usually haven't been many steps taken by the governments of those nations to combat it yet. The definitions themselves are well-conceived, if a little broad in nature, and the guidelines are detailed and leaves little room for creative non-compliance by crafty members, while ensuring that the resolution will not become outdated any time soon in the future. It is also considerate enough to think about the low resource nations which may not be able to comply with this and instructs the WA to provide funds for it, something that a surprising number of authors don't really think about while writing GA legislation. While I would prefer that some measures to deal with the adverse psychological effects of homelessness, something well-documented at this point, were put in the resolution, this overall looks really good to me.
